WS Wärmeprozesstechnik GmbH is a medium-sized, owner-operated company. We are proud to be independent and to be able to follow our passions rathern than corporate strategies.
Since the company's foundation in 1982, WS specializes in energy-saving and low-emission industrial burner technology. The protection of our environment as well as the use of alternative green fuels has been in the center of our efforts for decades.
With over 100,000 high-efficiency burners sold, WS customers collectively achieve estimated annual fuel savings of several thousand gigawatt hours, worth hundreds of millions of euros. This corresponds to a reduction of global CO2 emissions beyond one million tons per year.
Alongside with WS, several affiliated companies are part of our group. Together, we strive for the protection of the environment and to enable the transition towards a more sustainable energy future.
Our aspiration is to be and stay the technological leaders in industrial combustion technology.
In our perfectly equipped labs with highly qualified engineers we make sure to stay on the forefront in our technological field. Aside of various test furnaces, equipped with modern and high-quality measuring equipment, we can make use of over 30 years of experience in the field of CFD simulation.
Our successful research efforts are well documented by a multitude of publicly funded national and international research projects as well as a long list of scientific publications.
The most prevalent example of our success in R&D is the renowned combustion technology of flameless oxidation - FLOX®, which today lowers emissions in tens of thousands of applications all over the world, and for which we received several important awards.
There is no such thing as catalogue based sales at WS. Our approach is strictly focused on the individual needs of everyone of our customers. Carefully designed solutions for the specific application in question have always been one of our core strengths. Something that becomes even more important in a future of new and green fuels.
Our pioneering spirit alongside with decades of experience and the courage of trying new things give our customers the competitive advantage they need to prevail in their respective markets.
Numerous well-known furnace manufacturers and end customers around the world are among our regular customers. The very high rate of repeat and return customers proves that our customer-centric approach contributes to high plant quality and long-term customer satisfaction.
We are very much aware how important it is for our customers to maintain highest possible availability of their equipment. Our service technicians and engineers are working all over the globe to start-up, maintain, and troubleshoot WS burners. In addition to our own staff, we maintain a global network of partner companies in order to make sure customers get help fast when they need it.
For our customers' staff we offer burner training tailored to their needs, either right in the field with the actual equipment, or at WS in Renningen or Lorain, OH. Both basic training as well as in-depth courses are available to enable proper burner installation, start-up, tuning, and maintenance of WS burners.
We purposefully chose to concentrate both assembly and R&D activities at our headquarters in Renningen. Experienced staff and long-term vendors in an almost entirely regional supply chain ensure high quality products every time. Due to the proximity of assembly, design engineering, and R&D department, we are able to quickly react to customer needs.
It is part of our core philosophy to repair rather than replace. Our dpeartment for in-house repairs is able to repair or update your used products to the newest standards. In many cases, we work on burners that have been in operation for decades.
Before a burner leaves our premises, it goes through intense testing and is pre-adjusted to its desired input. A test data certificate for every burner documents all quality checks and pre-adjustment.
In 1997, we founded our U.S. subsidiary company in Elyria, OH. The location is close to Cleveland and therefore within the heart of the rust belt area, the home to many traditional steel mills, heat treaters, and furnace builders.
As of January 2011, WS Inc. has moved into its own building in Lorain, OH and is growing ever since.
WS Inc. is serving our customers in North America with project specific engineering services, maintenance service, an extensive spare parts stock, and the adaption of WS burner technology to the specific needs of the U.S. market.
